Social Media and Travel: Wherever You Go Take your Friends with You.

The use of Social Media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr have not only radically changed the way we communicate in our daily lives it has also changed the way we travel. Out are the days of waiting 24 hours for vacation photos in print and slideshows in a dimly lit living room (I can still hear the feint click-a-click of my dad’s projector), In are real-time status updates, instant photo sharing and couchsurfing requests. In fact it's almost an expectation that you will keep your friends and family informed via the web. I’d like to share my experience using these tools and how it helped me during my trip around the world.

With all the buzz around Apple’s iPad (yeah I’m not sold on the name either, enough with the feminine protection jokes already) we’ve been giving some serious thought as to how we’d use the iPad in our daily creative process.

We’ve been going all out pedal to the metal these past weeks on different projects. We also started working with MacLaren on several interactive projects for GM Canada. You may have seen some of these floating around the web already as GM ramps up their online efforts for the Holiday Season.

It’s an amazing feeling to be recognized when you do a great job. When you’re a creative design studio hearing words like “You’re the best Agency I’ve ever worked with.” from your client makes all the hard work and insane deadlines worth the effort.

Most of us have seen or heard about the Kevin Costner film “A Field of Dreams”. You know the one about the guy who builds a baseball field in the middle of nowhere USA? Doesn’t ring a bell? How about the famous line, “build it and they will come”? Feeling me now?

Using Social Media to Become an Authority in Your Industry

These days it’s near impossible to ignore the power that is social media, audience engagement and the effects of a strong online presence. A company, person or organization that chooses to dive head first into these channels with an honest and consistent effort can truly level the playing field and become a force to recon with in today’s global marketplace.

Why Good Logo Design Isn’t Cheap

Ask any graphic designer and they’ll tell you designing a logo is difficult work. It’s almost as difficult as convincing someone it’s worth the price they’re paying. Many people don’t realize the effort that goes into designing an effective logo. They normally only see the finished product. Easy smeazy they think. That’s what I said when I thought I could do carpentry, but that’s another story altogether.
