Website Development “En Masse”

Website Development “En Masse”

At OrangeSprocket we like to think we excel when it comes to web design. But the geek in us also loves it when a well executed web design comes together with some hard-core web development and solid coding. Whether we’re creating a one-off landing page, a 50 page web site or a custom web-application we take the same steps to achieve results that are clean both inside and out.

What Makes a Graphic Designer? Raw Talent or Schooling!

What Makes a Graphic Designer? Raw Talent or Schooling!

I did a blog post last week called “First Get Their Attention.” In the post I went off on a rant about Graphic Designers looking for employment and how little effort some of them put into getting our attention. That topic got me thinking about what makes a good graphic designer.

Search Engine Optimization and Online Marketing (or How to Get Found on the Interweb)

Search Engine Optimization and Online Marketing (or How to Get Found on the Interweb)

We’re living in exciting times. Online communication between people all over the globe has never been so easy and instantaneous. It can only get better and faster in the future (well at least we hope). Smart businesses see this rapid growth of communication as an ideal way to spread their name and reputation to even more people beyond all borders.

e-Learning and e-Volving

e-Learning and e-Volving

In the current age where it’s vogue to insert an “E” in front of anything that used to be done in the good ol’ days without a computer (e-mail, e-commerce, and even e-dating), it’s easy to take a passive stance with e-learning. It’s just training on a computer, right? I read a screen instead of a textbook, I use a mouse to select my answer on a multiple choice test instead of using a pen and paper, and I see my marks on a screen instead of a report card. So what is so great about e-learning?

We worked with a few vendors recently who were using non-industry standard applications for design. This doesn’t happen often but when it does it can make for a few headaches and a bit of anxiety as we wait to see the final proofs.

  • First Get Their Attention. YEAH I’M TALKING TO YOU!

The first step in any successful marketing strategy is to get the attention of your prospects. If they don't know you exist it’s dang near impossible to get their business or your message across.

The Healing Journey

The Healing Journey

As we get ready to start on the next phase of a project that began some time ago I wanted to share a bit of this story. Several months past we were awarded a project with Public Legal Education and Information Service (PLEIS) for the Province of New Brunswick. The project was a joint effort between PLEIS-NB and Gignoo Transition House which is the only Aboriginal transition house in New Brunswick.

With the plethora (I’ve always wanted to use plethora in a blog post) of 3D movie releases this summer I thought it would be appropriate to show off some of the 3D work our amazingly talented 3D guy Igor (yes that’s his real name) has created for various projects.

What Social Media Channels Are You Following?

What Social Media Channels Are You Following?

Our clients often ask us how and where we engage in Social Media. We'd like to share some of the blogs, podcasts, news outlets and people we follow to keep ourselves informed, entertained and current. We're hoping by sharing our favorite hangouts you’ll reciprocate and feel inspired to share your favorites as well.

To say that I’m a bit of an information junky is somewhat of an understatement. Like many of you we find ourselves checking mobile devices late into the evening and at first light in the morning to get our social media fix on.

Please feel free to share your lists or people you follow I’d love to learn what makes you tick.
